JOHN DAY -- The Oregon DMV John Day office at 193 N. Canyon Blvd. is closed today, Aug. 18, due to staffing challenges.
Oregon DMV has employed roughly the same number of people for the last 25 years, even as the state's population has grown by 800,000. Now with a hiring freeze, we often have to temporarily close an office if we don’t have enough people to staff it. Drop-in customers can expect longer wait times with no guarantee of same-day service.
