Creating a safer intersection We're installing three right-hand turn traffic signals at the intersection for northbound, eastbound and westbound traffic. This work will help make the intersection safer for pedestrians and bicyclists. You can expect: The traffic signals at this intersection to be off starting at 8 p.m. on Aug. 20. Flaggers directing traffic through the intersection. Construction noise and delays. We plan to have the traffic signals working again by the morning of Aug. 21. Please use caution and watch for workers as you're going through the area.

About the work we're doing

This work is funded through our vulnerable user crash response program. This program received $10.6 million in HB 2017 funding, approved by the Oregon Transportation Commission.

We use the term “vulnerable road user” to describe a person who is unprotected by an outside shield, like in a car or truck, when they are traveling. Meaning people walking, biking or rolling.

While ODOT’s funding crisis is having a profound impact on maintenance and operations, most projects will continue. These projects are typically funded through separate programs, often with state or federal funds that are legally restricted to project development and cannot be used for maintenance or day-to-day operations. Pay attention in the work zone, slow down and move over – imagine this is where you work. Always drive safely, watch for construction signs and workers.  Remember that fines double in all Oregon work zones, whether workers and signs are present or not.
