HALFWAY - We are upgrading curb ramps in North Powder, Richland and Halfway to meet current ADA standards. These improvements mean increased safety and more seamless access for people who walk, bike or roll.
Work begins in Halfway
Construction will start in Halfway in late August or early September. Crews will begin at the intersection of Fish Lake Road and OR 413/Main Street, then continue east through town.
After finishing in Halfway, crews will move to Richland, with the goal of finishing curb ramp upgrades in both towns by the end of October.
Construction into 2026
Work in North Powder will begin in spring 2026 after a winter break. The entire project is scheduled to be finished by October 2026.
Construction schedules may change due to weather or other unexpected issues.
During construction, you can expect:
- Lane and shoulder closures.
- Flaggers.
- Possible side street closures.
- ADA-accessible pedestrian detours around all work zones.
- Access to all businesses will remain open.
Watch for work crews and equipment when you see our orange construction signs, cones and barricades. |

Funding information
While ODOT’s funding crisis is having a profound impact on maintenance and operations, most projects will continue. These projects are typically funded through separate programs, often with state or federal funds that are legally restricted to project development and cannot be used for maintenance or day-to-day operations.
