Plan ahead for nighttime I-5 ramp closures
As part of our I-5 paving project, we're closing the on and off-ramps at I-5 Exit 209 to Harrisburg while we pave and install striping.
I-5 Exit 209 on and off-ramp closures
August 3 through August 8, we're working at night to pave and apply striping on the I-5 Exit 209 to Diamond Hill Road on and off-ramps.
You can detour around the closed ramps by using the exit before or after, depending on where you're going. We'll keep the ramps open during the day and will only close one ramp at a time.
You can expect:
- Crews working mostly at night, Sunday through Thursday from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- Occasional Saturday night bridge work.
- Some daytime work as needed.
- Single lane closures between 7 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.
- Construction noise and delays.
- A reduced speed limit to 55 mph in the work zone.
- No lane changes allowed where there are double white lines.
Funding information
While ODOT’s funding crisis is having a profound impact on maintenance and operations, most projects will continue. These projects are typically funded through separate programs, often with state or federal funds that are legally restricted to project development and cannot be used for maintenance or day-to-day operations. For more information on ODOT’s funding crisis, visit our website.

Pay attention in work zones, slow down and move over – imagine this is where you work. Always drive safely, watch for construction signs and workers.
Remember that fines double in all Oregon work zones, whether workers and signs are present or not.
