BAKER CITY – Starting today, sections of Hughes Street and Pocahontas Road at the intersection of U.S. 30 (10th Street) will be closed. Please follow designated detour routes around the closure.

  • Pocahontas Road will be closed June 24 through July 1.

During the closure, crews will be paving the intersection and constructing sidewalks and ADA ramps at each corner.

Other work

Over the next few weeks, the contractor will install remaining ADA ramps, as well as paving the shoulders and approaches along 10th Street between L Street and Broadway.

For this work, traffic along 10th Street will be shifted to the middle lanes, with at least one lane open in each direction. Traffic delays are expected to be minimal. The majority of impacts will affect pedestrians. Access to businesses on 10th Street will remain open during construction.

Schedules are tentative and subject to change.

The project is scheduled to be completed October 2025.

Crews are planning to work Monday-Thursday, 6 a.m. to 5 p.m.
