Kuebler Boulevard to Delaney Road

We're making progress

Get a birds eye view of the new I-5 bridge over Commercial Street SE that's part of our work between Kuebler Boulevard and Delaney Road.

We recently poured concrete to create what will become the new driving surface and the bridge is starting to look more complete!

Speaking of bridges, this isn't the only new bridge we're doing as part of this project. You'll start to see more work happening on the new Battle Creek Road SE bridge over I-5.

If you're going through the area, you can expect:

Construction noise and delays.
Crews working during the day and at night.
Lane, shoulder and ramp closures as needed.
55 mph speed limit in the work zone.

Pay attention in work zones, slow down and move over – imagine this is where you work! Always drive safely, watch for construction signs and workers.

Remember that fines double in all Oregon work zones, whether workers and signs are present or not.

About Bridge Funding and Replacement

Our funding to maintain, preserve and replace bridges is limited by the structural revenue issue our agency faces. At the rate we're currently replacing bridges, it would take us almost 900 years to replace all of the bridges on the state highway network.

We will not allow Oregonians to travel on unsafe bridges, but as bridges age it will steadily cost more to maintain them. Over time these bridges will face weight restrictions and eventual closure without timely replacement.
