Miami Foley Road Bridge Replacements: Dry Creek and Crystal Creek

Plan ahead for the next Miami Foley Road closure as we continue to replace the existing Dry Creek culvert with a new bridge.

Full closure at Dry Creek on May 30

During the May 30 closure, you can expect:

Miami Foley Road to close on both sides of Dry Creek from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
To detour around the closure using U.S. 101.
Crews working during the day.
Construction noise and delays.

We plan to reopen a single lane of Miami Foley Road by 5 p.m. the same day, May 30.

Future daytime closures

We don't have the dates for the two closures at Crystal Creek but we'll share more information as soon as we know the schedule.

About the work we're doing

We've been working on Miami Foley Road to replace the Crystal Creek temporary bridge and the Dry Creek culvert with two new permanent bridges.

Usually, we keep a road closed for the duration of a project when we're building a new bridge – but we're doing this project a little different!

We're building each bridge one lane at a time to reduce traffic impacts. This means you'll be able to get through the work zone on a single lane most of the time during construction work.

We've detoured traffic once already. After the May 30 closure, you can expect two more times when you'll need to detour using U.S. 101 while we're bringing in equipment at Crystal Creek.

About Bridge Funding and Replacement

Our funding to maintain, preserve and replace bridges is limited by the structural revenue issue our agency faces. At the rate we're currently replacing bridges, it would take us almost 900 years to replace all of the bridges on the state highway network.

We will not allow Oregonians to travel on unsafe bridges, but as bridges age it will steadily cost more to maintain them. Over time these bridges will face weight restrictions and eventual closure without timely replacement.
