Project Update

Paving between SE 40th Street and SE 123rd Street

Work starts soon!

You may have seen crews in the area prepping to work on curb ramps and to pave a section of U.S. 101 between SE 40th Street and SE 123rd Street.

You can expect:

Crews working during the day, Monday through Friday.
Single lane closures with flaggers helping direct traffic as needed.
Shoulder and sidewalk closures as needed.
Construction noise and debris – using saws to cut concrete can be loud and dusty.

Our schedule may change. Please use caution and watch for workers when driving through the area.

About the project

The pavement in this section of U.S. 101 is in poor condition and needs to be replaced. For this project, we plan to:

Repave the road. This will help reduce maintenance costs and give you a smoother ride.
Install new striping and rumble strips. Striping helps clearly define each travel lane. Rumble strips provide noise and vibration to alert drivers when they're leaving their lane
Build ADA curb ramps at SE 40th Street. ADA curb ramps make it easier for everyone to move between the curb and road, whether you have a disability or not.
