New OD System Launching Soon

We have important updates as we near the May 19 launch of ORION (Oregon Routing Information Online), our new web-based over-dimension permitting system. Please read the following notes carefully.

  • Training Sessions – ProMiles will be facilitating two online training sessions next week on Monday, May 12 and Tuesday, May 13, 2025. All information for the training sessions can be found on the ORION project page.

  • Oregon Trucking Online (TOL) Transition – Over-dimension permit transactions will be disabled on TOL on May 16, 2025, at 2 p.m. PST. After that, your TOL account will continue to have access to all other transactions such as weight-mile tax and registration. This allows us to complete OD permits that are in progress and transfer OD permit data to ORION.

  • Annual Permits– We have reduced the number of annual permits from 27 to 11 to simplify administration and make things easier for you. Due to this consolidation, you will purchase a new annual permit as opposed to renewing an existing permit on or after May 19, 2025.

    • If you have an annual permit expiring before May 19, 2025, you can renew that permit through TOL before May 16, 2025, at 2 p.m. or through the Oregon Trucking Association.

    • If you have received a renewal notification by mail in recent months and have yet to return those forms, please do not return them as there may not be time for processing prior to the new system launch. For timely renewals, please visit one of our CCD office locations or renew through TOL before the 2 p.m. PST deadline on May 16, 2025.

    • If you have an annual permit expiring on or after May 19, 2025, a new permit will need to be purchased through ORION or through the Oregon Trucking Association.

We strongly encourage you to attend one of the upcoming training sessions to learn how to setup your ORION account, manage users and order permits. The ORION Project Page is updated on a regular basis and has a FAQ with more information about the new system. If you have any questions, please contact ORION Customer Support.

ORION is just another way we are stepping up to better meet your needs. We look forward to seeing you soon in ORION!
