New OD System Launching Soon

Final testing of our new web-based over-dimension permitting system is wrapping up and we are just a few weeks away from our go-live date. Here are some important updates on ORION (Oregon Routing Information Online), scheduled to launch on May 19, 2025:

Webinar – Our last informational webinar is scheduled for May 7, 2025, at 9 a.m. PST. Please RSVP or find the Teams meeting information below and on the ORION Project Page.
Training – Two facilitated training sessions are being offered on May 12 and May 13, 2025. Meeting links for the training sessions are also on the ORION Project Page. The webinar is not a substitute for training so we hope that you will be able to join one of these sessions facilitated by ProMiles. If not, a recording will be available for you.
Access on Oregon Trucking Online (TOL) – Over-dimension permit transactions will be disabled on TOL on May 16, 2025, at 2 p.m. PST. After that, your TOL account will continue to have access to all other transactions (e.g., weight-mile tax, registration, etc.). This allows us to complete permits that are in progress and transfer permit data to ORION.
Changes to Annual Permits – We have consolidated the number of annual permits from 27 to 11 to simplify administration and make things easier for you. Due to this consolidation, you will purchase a new annual permit as opposed to renewing an existing permit on or after May 19, 2025.
- If you have an annual permit expiring before May 19, 2025, you can renew that permit through one of our Third-Party Agents or through TOL.
- If you have an annual permit expiring on or after May 19, 2025, a new permit will need to be purchased through ORION or through the Oregon Trucking Association.
Annual Permit Renewals – You may have started to receive reminders for annual permit renewals from ORION. Going forward, renewal reminders will be sent to the email on file and not through US Mail. During the transition period, data in ORION may be behind the current system so please disregard the renewal notice if you have already renewed the permit referenced in the email.
