U.S. 26 Little Humbug Creek Bridge Replacement

Heads up – we'll return to the area to finish our work in May

Last year we replaced the U.S. 26 bridge over Humbug Creek in two stages, building half the bridge at a time.

We're coming back soon to wrap things up by painting permanent striping! This work is weather dependent and our schedule may change.

You can expect:

Crews working during the day.
Intermittent single lane closures.
Flaggers helping direct traffic through the single open lane.
Construction noise and delays.

About Bridge Funding and Replacement

Our funding to maintain, preserve and replace bridges is limited by the structural revenue issue our agency faces. At the rate we're currently replacing bridges, it would take us almost 900 years to replace all of the bridges on the state highway network.

We will not allow Oregonians to travel on unsafe bridges, but as bridges age it will steadily cost more to maintain them. Over time these bridges will face weight restrictions and eventual closure without timely replacement.
