Safe Routes to School projects receive $31 million to start construction
In January 2025, the Oregon Transportation Commission approved funding for 28 projects around the state that new sidewalks, pedestrian crossings, curb ramps, and improvements that will make schools safer and more accessible.

High schools need Safe Routes to School too
Earlier this year, our Safe Routes to School program launched a High School Task Force to engage high school students in transportation initiatives. This task force empowers students to take an active role in creating safer and more sustainable transportation options for their communities.

Making steady progress on curb ramp upgrades in communities statewide
Access and mobility are increasingly better for those who walk, bike and roll thanks to an additional 2,442 curb ramps that ODOT made ADA compliant last year.

 Astoria Parks gave our Oregon Community Paths Program a shoutout on social media. This grant program is dedicated to helping communities create and maintain connections through multiuse paths, with the goal of complementing and expanding existing active transportation programs across the state.
