We're working on a curb ramp near you! |

About the project
Whether you drive, ride, walk or roll, we are committed to providing the best accessibility possible to all people using our highways, including on OR 47. One of the ways we are doing this is by rebuilding or installing ADA curb ramps in Vernonia.
During construction, you can expect:
- Crews working mostly during the day, Monday through Friday.
- Occasional night work as needed.
- Shoulder and lane closures as needed.
- Flaggers helping direct traffic as needed.
- Delays and construction noise.
- Businesses to remain open during construction.

Why are ADA curb ramps important?
ADA curb ramps make it easier for people to move between the sidewalk and road. This can be helpful for those who have trouble stepping up and down high curbs. It's also helpful for people using wheelchairs, strollers, walkers, hand carts and bicycles.
By making curb ramps gently slope to the road, it improves accessibility and makes it easier for everyone to get around, whether they have a disability or not.

Do you know what blue means in a construction work zone?
We know that construction isn't convenient for anyone, whether you drive, ride, walk, roll or shop in a local area. To help you see where to go, we use blue signs and markers to show business entrances or accesses to parking lots. As a reminder, businesses are open during construction – and your support during this dusty time is appreciated! When in doubt – look for blue to help guide you to a nearby business!

Planning a trip through Mist this summer?
We're replacing a culvert in Mist this year and will need a temporary full OR 47 closure June 16 through August 21.
You can use OR 47, U.S. 20 and Apiary Road to get around the full closure.

Pay attention in work zones, slow down and move over – imagine this is where you work! Always drive safely, watch for construction signs and workers.
Remember: fines double in all Oregon work zones, whether workers and signs are present or not.
