Paving to start in Garibaldi |
Our crews have made progress upgrading U.S. 101 in downtown Garibaldi. These upgrades will help make the area safer and more accessible for all, whether you drive, ride, walk or roll.
As soon as next week, we'll start paving in the downtown area.
This work is weather dependent, so we're ready to start as soon as weather permits. When paving starts, you can expect:
- Lane closures with 24-hour flagging using pilot cars to help get traffic through the work zone.
- Crews working Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Side streets in the project area to close. Local traffic will need to use alternative routes.
- Sidewalk closures with pedestrian detours as needed.
- Noise and delays.
- Businesses in the project area to remain open.
We estimate finishing this project in Fall 2025.

Pay attention in work zones, slow down and move over – imagine this is where you work! Always drive safely, watch for construction signs and workers.
Remember that fines double in all Oregon work zones, whether workers and signs are present or not.
