OR 211 and S Meridian Road Intersection Safety Improvements: Four-Way Stop
|

Plan ahead – the intersection becomes a four-way stop today!
You may have seen us in the area making safety improvements to the OR 211 and S Meridian Road intersection.
Starting today, Mar. 18, the OR 211 and S Meridian Road intersection is a four-way stop. Traffic on OR 211 will now need to stop when they reach the intersection.
You'll notice new stop signs and an overhead flashing red light to help remind drivers that everyone needs to stop when they reach the intersection.

As part of this work, we recently:
- Installed stop signs on OR 211 at the intersection.
- Added rumble strips across the lane at four locations on OR 211, two on each side of S Meridian Road. Rumble strips are grooves in the pavement that create vibration and sound to alert drivers when they are leaving a lane.
- Added overhead flashing red warning lights to alert drivers of the new all-way stop.
- Installed new signs where needed.
We plan to return in 2026 or 2027 to make permanent changes at this intersection.

Pay attention in the work zone, slow down and move over – imagine this is where you work! Always drive safely, watch for construction signs and workers.
Remember that fines double in all Oregon work zones, whether workers and signs are present or not.
