This EV charger at a multifamily home complex in Woodburn was funded by the rebate program.

We added over $700,000 more funding to this round, due to its popularity.

We’re nearly two months in to the third funding round of our rebate program for EV charging station projects and we’ve already allocated over 60% of the available funding to 57 eligible projects.

Of the original $2.75 million available for the third funding round of our Community Charging Rebates program, applicants have reserved about $2.1 million for eligible projects as of Jan. 24.

Given how popular Round 3 has been, last week we added over $700,000 to the available funding pool. This infusion increased the remaining Round 3 funds to $1.3 million.

If you’re thinking about applying, act soon! Start your application online today or visit the program website for all the information you need before you apply. The funding round closes April 3, 2025 or as soon as the available money runs out.

We launched the program’s third funding round on Dec. 17, 2024. Of the 57 reserved projects so far, 40 are in rural or disadvantaged communities, where gaps in public EV charging infrastructure are largest.

Those 57 projects will add over 400 Level 2 charging ports as they are completed over the next several months. As of February 2025, Oregon has about 2,800 public Level 2 EV charging ports.

More information about the rebates program

The Community Charging Rebates program offers rebates for Level 2 charging station projects at multifamily homes, workplaces, and publicly accessible parking areas throughout Oregon. The rebates range from $3,500 - $6,250 per charging port or up to 75% of eligible project costs, whichever is less.

Eligible businesses, nonprofits, public entities, Tribes, EV service providers, and owners of multifamily home complexes may apply.

We use state dollars to fund the program. It is distinct from other EV charging infrastructure programs we manage, like the federally-funded National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure program.

The Community Charging Rebates program is one of several ways we’re working with state partners to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from transportation and address climate change in Oregon. Our data says that by 2050, we’re on track to reduce emissions by about 60%. Learn how we’ll get there on our transportation emissions website.
