OR 126W Closure and delays near Mapleton Feb. 19-20

Crews clear rock and debris from the Pederson tunnel.

Heads up for travelers on OR 126W near milepost 19, five miles east of Mapleton—expect delays and closures as crews work to clear rocks and debris from the east side of the Pederson Tunnel also known as the Knowles Creek Tunnel.

  • Feb. 19: OR 126W will be closed for one hour starting at 8 a.m. After the closure, flaggers will hold traffic in 20-minute intervals from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Feb. 20: Work will continue with 20-minute traffic holds throughout the day, weather permitting.
  • Final Closure: Once work is complete, another one-hour closure will be needed to safely remove heavy equipment from the area.

Please plan for delays or consider alternate routes. Stay alert, follow flagger instructions, and watch for crews in the area.
