Construction coming soon to Willamette Dr. (OR 43) in West Linn
We're improving safety and mobility for travelers by building a protected intersection. This project reduces conflicts and improves safety by separating vehicles from pedestrians and people biking with a curb. The work is guided by the OR 43 Conceptual Design Plan adopted by the City of West Linn, similar to Historic Mainstreet Improvements.
You can visit our website for more information and to sign up for email updates.
Construction begins next week, April 7th, and is expected to last through fall 2025.
Travelers can expect lane and shoulder closures on OR43, Marylhurst Dr and Lazy River Dr. with nighttime flagging. Crews anticipate a closure of Marylhurst Dr. for three to five nights with a short signed detour.
Pedestrian detours will be available during sidewalk closures.

This intersection style improves safety and mobility for travelers by building a protected intersection. Similar improvements have been built on nearby Historic Main Street. This intersection style increases safety by separating bike lanes and sidewalks from the road with a curb at key points within the intersection reducing conflict points.
Benefits:
Separate bike lanes from the road with a curb to protect people walking and biking.
New dedicated left turn lanes and signal phases from Marylhurst and Lazy River Dr. reduce turning conflicts with pedestrians and people biking, improving safety.
Reduced crossing distance at crosswalks improve safety for pedestrians.
Updated striping increases visibility of people walking and biking.
