Depoe Bay Bridge Preservation
|
The Depoe Bay Bridge is exposed to harsh winds and salt water. The protective coating that helps prevent corrosion, called cathodic protection, is over 30 years old and needs to be reapplied.
To keep this bridge in good working order, we plan to:
- Reapply the protective coating.
- Make minor concrete repairs.
- Repair the existing bridge rail.
Stay tuned – we'll send an update when we get closer to construction and have a better idea about when work will start.

Most work is done off the highway and under the bridge.
When construction begins in late summer or early fall, you can expect:
- Single lane and sidewalk closures as needed.
- Flaggers helping direct traffic as needed.
- Construction noise and delays.

Pay attention in the work zone, slow down and move over – imagine this is where you work! Always drive safely, watch for construction signs and workers.
Remember that fines double in all Oregon work zones, whether workers and signs are present or not.
