Plan ahead: we're paving near Newport on U.S. 101 later this year

Project Update

U.S. 101 Paving:
SE 40th Street to SE 123rd Street

Beginning late spring or early summer 2025, we'll starting paving a section of U.S. 101 that is in poor condition. We plan to:

Repave the road – this will help reduce maintenance costs and give you a smoother ride.
Install new striping and rumble strips – striping helps clearly define each travel lane. Rumble strips provide noise and vibration to alert drivers when they're leaving their lane
Build ADA curb ramps at SE 40th Street – ADA curb ramps make it easier for everyone to move between the curb and road, whether you have a disability or not.
