I-5 Widening Project: Kuebler Boulevard to Delaney Road

New roundabout: Battle Creek Road SE and Wiltsey Street SE intersection

Good news – we're partnering with Marion County to make safety improvements to the Battle Creek Road SE and Wiltsey Street SE intersection that will connect to the new Battle Creek Road SE Bridge over I-5.

This includes:

• A new roundabout at the Battle Creek Road SE and Wiltsey Street SE intersection.
• Connecting driveways to the new road alignments.

You can expect:

• Access maintained on the current roads until the new ones are fully built.
• A detour in place when we connect the new alignments to the existing roads.
• Trucks coming in and out of the site.
• Construction noise.
• Debris and dust.

About Bridge Funding and Replacement

Our funding to maintain, preserve and replace bridges is limited by the structural revenue issue our agency faces. At the rate we're currently replacing bridges, it would take us almost 900 years to replace all of the bridges on the state highway network.

We will not allow Oregonians to travel on unsafe bridges, but as bridges age it will steadily cost more to maintain them. Over time these bridges will face weight restrictions and eventual closure without timely replacement.
