Work is paused for the winter

Now that we're in the season of cold, wet weather and tire chains, we're pausing work along OR 58 for our Coast Fork Willamette River to Lower Salt Creek Bridges project. We've appreciated everyone's patience while we worked to make four bridges along the corridor earthquake ready.

You can expect to see us back in Spring 2025.

About the project

The OR 58 corridor is an important route between I-5 and U.S. 97.

Our crews have been working to make these bridges earthquake ready:

Coast Fork Willamette River Bridge at milepost 2.4 (west of Pleasant Hill).
- The Dilley Boat Ramp is temporarily closed until November 2025.
Willamette River (Barnard) Bridge at milepost 33.2 (west of Oakridge).
Salmon Creek Bridge at milepost 36 (in Oakridge).
- Five parking spaces and the hiking trail from Greenwater Park are temporarily closed.
Lower Salt Creek Bridge at milepost 38.2 (east of Oakridge).

In the event of a large earthquake, this corridor would be a lifeline to help deliver supplies between the southern Willamette Valley and Central Oregon.
