Watch for congestion, delays on U.S. 101 south of Coos Bay this week

Oct. 21, 2024

COOS BAY – Bridge work on U.S. 101 at the junction of Oregon 42 south of Coos Bay may lead to congestion and delays this week.

Work is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, Oct. 21-24. While most delays will be brief, drivers should budget extra travel time through this area.

The project will repair the Oregon 42 bridge at the junction, requiring daytime closures of the northbound U.S. 101 lanes under it. During these closures, northbound U.S. 101 traffic will detour onto the Davis Slough Connector, turn left at Oregon 42 and continue north onto U.S. 101. Flaggers will provide traffic control for the detour.
