PORTLAND -- Crews will be closing the northbound Interstate 405 ramp onto the Fremont Bridge the nights of Sunday Oct. 13 through Tuesday Oct. 15 for routine bridge inspections. On Wednesday night Oct. 16, there is a single lane closure on the ramp from I-5 north to Fremont Bridge and the Broadway/Williams on-ramp to I-5 north will close.
A single lane, overnight closure to I-405 southbound starting at the Kerby on-ramp and across the Fremont Bridge will run from Thursday, Oct. 17 through Saturday, Oct. 19.
Traffic Impacts
Oct. 13-15
- Northbound I-405 on lower deck of the Fremont Bridge will close overnight, starting at 10 p.m.
- The closures will divert traffic onto U.S. 30 westbound just before the I-405 northbound split leading to the lower deck of the Fremont Bridge.
- The closures will run 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., starting Sunday night, Oct. 13. We expect to finish inspections by 5 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16.
Oct. 16
- A single lane closure on the ramp from northbound I-5 to Fremont Bridge will begin at 9 p.m.
- The Broadway/Williams on-ramp to I-5 northbound will close at approximately midnight to accommodate fans leaving a Portland Trail Blazers exhibition game.
Oct. 17-19
- Southbound I-405 on the upper deck of the Fremont Bridge will have single lane closure starting at the Kerby on-ramp.
- The single lane closure will begin at 9 p.m. and we expect inspections to be finished by 5. a.m. Sunday, Oct. 20.
Additionally, there will be alternating right and left lane closures on I-5 northbound and southbound at the I-405/I-5 interchange from Tuesday night, Oct. 15 through Saturday night, Oct. 19. These closures will run from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Please plan ahead. If you need to reach northbound I-5 from the I-405 corridor during the night closure, please use southbound 405 to northbound I-5.
