Urban upgrades in Garibaldi |

You've likely seen our crews working on U.S. 101 through downtown Garibaldi. These upgrades will help make the area safer and more accessible for all, whether you drive, ride, walk or roll.
We started work last month on the north side of U.S. 101 between 6th Street and 10th Street. We're removing portions of the sidewalk to install underground utilities.
You can expect:
- Crews working Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Occasional nighttime work as needed.
- Sidewalk closures with pedestrian detours as needed.
- Lane closures with flaggers helping direct traffic as needed.
- Noise and delays.
- Businesses in the project area to remain open.
We estimate finishing this project in Fall 2025.

Sam Reed/Necarney Creek Emergency Bridge Repair
Four miles north of Manzanita at milepost 39.5, a section of concrete sidewalk and guardrail collapsed on this bridge in late August 2024. Currently, there is a 24/7 single lane closure with flaggers helping direct traffic.
We're planning a full U.S. 101 road closure to start repairs on 9/21 at 7 a.m. through 9/22 at 7 p.m.
Our schedule may change, visit TripCheck.com for the most up to date information on traffic impacts.
The Sam Reed/Necarney Creek Bridge was built in 1937 and the section that collapsed was part of the original concrete sidewalk and guardrail.

Pay attention in work zones, slow down and move over – imagine this is where you work! Always drive safely, watch for construction signs and workers.
Remember that fines double in all Oregon work zones, whether workers and signs are present or not.
