Region 4 Weekly Construction Update

Here at ODOT, we are committed to providing a safe and efficient transportation system for everyone. We invest in Oregon's future through roadway improvement projects. The following projects are located within Region 4; Central Oregon from The Dalles to Klamath Falls on the east side of the Cascades.

There are two ways to learn about construction taking place for the upcoming week. 

1. Visit TripCheck.com. Constantly updated with construction and crash data, TripCheck is the best way to learn about road conditions around the state. Click on a traffic cone symbol on the map to see construction impacts for that area.

2. Scroll down to the counties and highways listed below to see impacts that could affect you. Construction information is shown for one week, giving you the most up-to-date information.

All work is dependent on weather conditions, and schedules are subject to change.

DESCHUTES COUNTY

U.S. 97 and U.S. 20 Bend North Corridor 

Travelers will encounter single lane closures on U.S. 97 from Empire to Grandview Tuesday through Friday night for traffic control maintenance and sidewalk demolition/grading.

The ramp from southbound U.S. 97 to southbound U.S. 97B/ Cooley will be closed nightly from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday through Friday for paving and guardrail installation. Please use detour in place.

The ramp from U.S. 97B (at Cooley) to northbound U.S. 97 will be closed nightly from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday through Friday for paving and guardrail installation. Please use detour in place.

Crews will be performing miscellaneous clean-up work on U.S. 20 from Cooley to Robal, Crews will be performing excavation, grading, paving, sign installation, striping and bridge work on U.S. 97 between Grandview and Cooley and Empire, and demolition, grading, and flatwork on the sidewalks of the existing 97 business park. Crews will be constructing median barrier on the north and south ends of the project.

U.S. 97: Lower Bridge Way - Northwest 10th Street (Terrebonne) 

Crews will be performing daytime shoulder closures on U.S. 97 and lane closures on local roads for earthwork and utility operations all week. Minor delays expected.

Drivers should expect the following road closures all week with delays expected on local roads:

• 11th Street from Smith Rock Way south to U.S. 97 will be closed (local access only) for sewer work.
• Portions of Central Avenue / C Avenue / Smith Rock Way will be closed (local access only) at various times for sewer work- one of these roads will remain open to allow for thru traffic.

U.S. 20: 3rd Street - 15th Street (Greenwood, Bend) Project

Crews will be performing daytime lane closures on U.S. 20 (Greenwood) Monday to Friday for sidewalk operations from 3rd to 15th Street. Moderate delays expected.

U.S. 20 at Locust Street Roundabout

Travelers will encounter daytime shoulder closures Monday to Friday. Minor delays are expected. Access from U.S. 20 to South Locust Street and Hood Avenue is closed with detours in place.

OR 126: Redmond - Powell Butte

Crews will be performing nighttime lane closures Sunday night to Friday morning for curb and sidewalks work from U.S. 97 to Veterans Way. Moderate delays expected.

OR 242: McKenzie Pass Pavement Preservation Project

Crews will be performing various cleanup work. No delays expected.

CLACKAMAS COUNTY

OR 35: U.S. 26 Overcrossing Bridge (Mt. Hood Highway)

Work continues on-site with crews finishing bridge removal work and pouring a new concrete overlay. Single lane closures controlled by portable temporary traffic signals should be anticipated on OR 35.

CROOK COUNTY

U.S. 26 Meadow Lakes Drive – Combs Flat Road (Prineville)

Crews will be performing daytime and nighttime lane closures Monday to Friday for sidewalk, signal, and paving operations. Drivers should expect delays.

GILLIAM COUNTY

OR 206: Rock Creek Bridge Project

Work continues on-site with crews setting girders for the new bridge. Motorists should expect a temporary traffic signal-controlled work zone with navigation through the project on a temporary graveled diversion road. Portable message boards will also be in place informing motorists to expect up to 20-minute delays.

JEFFERSON COUNTY

U.S. 26: Wapinitia Junction - Warm Springs River Sec.

Motorists should anticipate single lane closures controlled by flaggers on U.S. 26 & OR 216 Monday night through Friday morning, between 7p.m. and 7a.m. while crews are onsite performing shoulder work. Please use caution while traveling through the work zone.

OR 140 at OR 66 Intersection Improvements

U.S. 97: OR 58 - California Border Project (The Dalles - California Highway, MP 252.44 - MP 278.81)

Link River Bridge at MP 275.03: Bridge work will be done behind the barrier, no delays expected. Conger Avenue and George Nurse Way are closed to thru traffic, please follow detours in place.

U.S. 97: SCL Crescent - Willamette Highway 58 Junction Section

Crews will be performing night paving work controlled by flaggers and pilot car from 7p.m. to 7a.m. Monday night through Friday morning. Travelers should expect 20-minute delays.

VARIOUS COUNTIES

All Roads Transportation Safety (ARTS) Intersection Upgrades Project (U.S. 97 at milepost 120.96 - 121.48

Crews will be performing daytime shoulder closures on U.S. 97, U.S. 26 and U.S. 197 Monday to Friday for signage operations. Nighttime lane closures are scheduled Wednesday to Friday on U.S. 197 in the Dalles. Minor delays expected.
