Fresh striping and a wider road at the OR 99 and Theona Drive intersection.
We've had multiple projects happening in the Eugene and Springfield areas. We want to share an update about our completed projects and send a big THANK YOU to both communities!
We know road work can be frustrating at times, but we hope you're enjoying the smoother ride.

Before this project, cars waiting in the previous OR 99 turn lane onto Theona Drive made it harder for drivers to see oncoming traffic as they attempted a left turn to go north on OR 99.
To help address this, we widened the road approaching the Theona Drive intersection. This adds more space between the cars turning and the cars continuing in the travel lane. By adding more space, it makes it easier for drivers to see oncoming traffic.
This bridge is located on OR 569/Beltline, where the highway crosses over the UPRR railroads and NW Expressway in Eugene. The bridge needed repairs to keep it in good working condition for years to come.
For this project, we replaced the bridge's damaged joints, railing and driving surface to give road users a smoother ride.
We've had several Beltline highway construction projects recently. This project completed many elements that we were not able to complete with the prior projects.
Our work this year included repaving and repairing the road surface, making bridge repairs, installing new signs and modifying traffic signals at various intersections. We also built a new bus pullout at Green Hill Road and a new concrete median from Roosevelt Boulevard to Coburg Road.
The prior pavement and bridge driving surfaces were in poor condition and needed to be replaced.
For this project, we repaved I-105 and some on and off-ramps. We also replaced seven bridge deck surfaces, added rumble strips and reflective strips to guardrails. Rumble strips help alert a driver when they're leaving their lane and the reflective strips helps make the guardrail more visible to drivers at night.

Pay attention in work zones, slow down and move over – imagine this is where you work! Always drive safely, watch for construction signs and workers.
Remember that fines double in all Oregon work zones, whether workers and signs are present or not.
