OR 47 Messing Creek Culvert Replacement

We're working on a project to replace a culvert under OR 47 that was damaged in January 2022 by a storm. A culvert is a pipe or channel that allows water to flow under the road.  We installed a temporary fix, but are returning in 2025 to build a new permanent culvert. This new culvert will help improve fish passage through the area while making it safer for vehicles and pedestrians using the road.

What to expect when construction starts:  A temporary full road closure with a detour using Apiary Road that will last for several months. Construction noise, debris and delays.

OR 202: Nehalem River Bridge Resurfacing | Birkenfeld – 2024

We’re applying a new driving surface to the bridge next month. This work will give you a smoother drive and preserve the bridge for years to come.

We plan to start work on 9/9/2024 and finish by 9/14/2024. You can expect single lane closures with flaggers directing traffic, construction noise and delays.

OR 47: Messing Creek Culvert Replacement | Mist – 2025

As mentioned above, we’re replacing the Messing Creek culvert under OR 47. The new culvert will improve fish passage through the area while making it safer for road users.

You can expect a temporary full road closure that lasts for several months when construction starts in 2025. Traffic can detour around the closure using Apiary Road.

OR 202: Nehalem River Bridge Resurfacing | Vesper – 2026

We’re replacing the bridge surface, installing new guardrail and improving drainage. This work will preserve the bridge and make it safer for all road users.

We plan to start construction in 2026. We’ll have a better idea about what impacts you can expect as we get further into design.
