U.S. 26: 24-Hour Lane Closures Start After Labor Day |
Plan ahead
We're making great progress on our project to replace the U.S. 26 Little Humbug Creek Bridge!
Our next step requires 24-hour single lane closures starting on 9/3 at about 6 a.m. through 9/30 at about 6 p.m.
You can expect:
- Single lane closures with flaggers helping direct traffic.
- Construction noise and long delays.
- Barriers to help define the lane.
- The open single lane to be 14-feet wide.
Vehicles wider than 12-feet need to avoid traveling through this area during the restricted days and hours or use authorized alternate routes.

About the project
The Little Humbug Bridge is along U.S. 26 and is more than 60 years old. This is an important highway connecting the coast to the Portland metro area. The bridge foundation is in poor condition and needs to be replaced.
We installed bridge supports earlier this year and are ready to remove and rebuild the bridge one direction at a time.
Help us spread the word!

Check out what we're building in and around your community
See what else is being constructed on the roads around your community by visiting our webpage. You can explore our interactive map to see what we're working on!
Pay attention in work zones, slow down and move over – imagine this is where you work! Always drive safely, watch for construction signs and workers.
Remember that fines double in all Oregon work zones, whether workers and signs are present or not.
