OR 202: Birkenfeld Bridge Work
Construction starts soon
Next week we're making improvements to the OR 202 bridge over the Nehalem River in Birkenfeld near milepost 40.6. We estimate starting on September 9 and completing on September 14.
We're resurfacing the bridge to preserve it and give you a smoother ride.
You can expect:
Daytime work.
Single lane closures with flaggers helping direct traffic.
Construction noise and delays.
This work is weather dependent and our schedule may change. Visit TripCheck.com for the most up to date information on impacts.

OR 47: Messing Creek Culvert Replacement – Starts in 2025
We're working on a project to replace a culvert under OR 47 that was damaged in January 2022 by a storm. A culvert is a pipe or channel that allows water to flow under the road.
We installed a temporary fix, but are returning in 2025 to build a new permanent culvert. This new culvert will help improve fish passage through the area while making it safer for vehicles and pedestrians using the road.
Thank you to everyone who joined us on 8/29 at our community Q&A in Mist!

Pay attention in the work zone, slow down and move over – imagine this is where you work! Always drive safely, watch for construction signs and workers.
Remember that fines double in all Oregon work zones, whether workers and signs are present or not.
