Kuebler Boulevard to Delaney Road SE

 Construction Starts Next Week
It's been awhile, but we have great news – we have a contractor onboard and are ready to start construction!
You'll see our crews in the area as we begin to make improvements to a portion of southbound I-5 from Kuebler Boulevard to Delaney Road SE.
|
You can expect:
- Crews working mostly during the day, Monday through Friday.
- Nighttime shoulder and lane closures, Sunday through Thursday from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- Construction noise and delays.
There are a lot of moving parts in a project of this size. We'll keep you updated as best as we can!
Some of our work is weather dependent and our schedule may change. Visit TripCheck.com for the most up to date information on impacts.

What's next?
Starting early September, we'll need to close the ramp from Delaney Road SE to Commercial Street SE and the northbound I-5 off-ramp Exit 249.
You can expect:
- Crews working during the day and night.
- These ramps to close nightly, Sunday 9/8 through Wednesday 9/11 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- Detours to get around the ramp closures:
- I-5 traffic can take Exit 252 onto Kuebler Boulevard to access Commercial Street.
- Delaney Road SE traffic can use Sunnyside Road SE to access Commercial Street SE.
|
 About the Project
We're making improvements to I-5 to help address the southbound traffic backups. We will:
- Replace the bridge over the northbound Commercial Street off-ramp.
- Rebuild and realign the southbound Delaney Road off-ramp.
- Replace and realign the Battle Creek Road overcrossing bridge.
- Pave the existing section of south and northbound I-5.
- Widen southbound I-5 from Kuebler Boulevard to Delaney Road SE to three lanes.
- Build two sound walls on the west side of I-5:
- Near the Terrace Lake Park community.
- Southbound Commercial Street on-ramp.
