Trucking Advisory: I-84 Closures due to Durkee Fire
I-84 is currently closed in both directions between Baker City (Exit 302) and Ontario (Exit 374) due to the Durkee Fire. The closure is expected to last through the day.
For the duration of the fire, nightly closures of I-84 are scheduled for 7:00pm to 5:00am Pacific Time. These closures will be westbound from MP374 to MP302 and eastbound from MP216 to MP374.
The freeway may be closed at any other time or location due to very erratic fire conditions and new fire starts. Winds have been very strong and changing directions rapidly, causing the situation to change by the moment.
This fire is advancing quickly towards the highway in multiple locations in the Farewell Bend area. Avoid the area and delay your travel plans or consider using alternative routes using major highways.
Do not rely on GPS for directions or attempt to detour using county or forest roads, as these are not suitable for interstate traffic and may be affected by ongoing fire activity.
