We're working on OR 58!
|
We're grinding off and replacing the driving surface on about eight miles of OR 58, giving you a smoother drive.
You'll start to see our crews in the area the week of August 4. You can expect:
- Paving work to start August 11.
- Lane and shoulder closures with automated flaggers helping direct traffic.
- Noise and delays.

We're making four bridges along OR 58 earthquake ready:
- Coast Fork Willamette River Bridge at milepost 2.4 (west of Pleasant Hill).
- Willamette River (Barnard) Bridge at milepost 33.2 (west of Oakridge).
- Salmon Creek Bridge at milepost 36 (in Oakridge).
- Lower Salt Creek Bridge at milepost 38.2 (east of Oakridge).
You can expect:
- Occasional single lane nighttime closures with flaggers directing traffic.
- Trucks entering and leaving the road near the bridges.
- The Dilley Boat Ramp to be closed at Coast Fork Willamette River Bridge through December 2024.
- Construction noise.

Starting this September, we'll continue construction on a culvert project that started in 2023. We're repairing or replacing culverts along OR 58 that are in poor condition.
When construction starts, you can expect:
- Shoulder closures as needed.
- Single lane closures weekdays between 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. with flaggers helping direct traffic.
- Potential delays up to 20 minutes.
- Construction noise.
