First, we're working on the northwest side of the NW Van Buren Avenue and NW 2nd Street intersection to:
Build ADA curb ramps.
Install signal pole foundations.
Add new drainage structures and pipes.
Rebuild the northern two lanes of Van Buren Avenue.
You can expect:
Lane and shoulder closures. The southern lane will remain open while crews are working in the other two lanes.
An alternate route for pedestrians.
Businesses to remain open during construction.
Construction noise and delays.
Our schedule may change, please visit TripCheck.com for the most up to date information on road closures and traffic impacts.
Don't forget...
Bikes and Pedestrians
The bike and pedestrian path under the bridge on both the east and west sides are closed. These paths will remain closed for the duration of the project.
The new temporary detour bridge includes a separated path shared by pedestrian and bicyclists. This path is the new alternate path to get across the river.
For people biking, walking or rolling from south Corvallis, follow the signed detour to get onto the new path. This detour includes crossing NW Van Buren Avenue at the temporary traffic signal.
River Access
You can continue to use the river during construction. The river channel is marked with buoy lines and signs directing river users where to go.
Please stay in the marked areas!
You can learn more about construction of the new bridge and the potential impacts by visiting our project webpage.
Downtown businesses are open during construction.
