The 107-year-old northbound span of the Interstate Bridge will close Saturday night July 20 for maintenance.

PORTLAND -- The northbound span of the Interstate Bridge will close Saturday night July 20 for repairs to drawbridge signal lights, signs, bearings and the bridge deck.
The closure will begin at 11 p.m. Saturday, July 20 with all lanes open again by 7 a.m. Sunday, July 21. The Interstate 5 northbound on-ramp from Hayden Island will close during the same hours.
The sidewalk on the northbound span will also close but the sidewalk on the southbound span will remain open.
As a detour, Washington-bound traffic should take Interstate 84 east to Interstate 205 north across the Glenn Jackson Bridge over the Columbia River.
The Interstate Bridge is jointly owned by Oregon and Washington and is operated and maintained by ODOT. The northbound span opened in 1917 and the southbound span in 1958.
