UPDATE: The striping work that had been planned for Sunday and Monday nights, June 30 and July 1, along U.S. 101 in Port Orford has been postponed due to equipment problems. Parking along U.S. 101 will be allowed day and night throughout next week.

The contractor and subcontractor will reschedule the work for later in July. ODOT will share the new dates as soon as the information becomes available. ODOT NEWS RELEASE

No parking allowed on U.S. 101 through Port Orford this Sunday and Monday night

June 27, 2024

PORT ORFORD – Contractors plan to apply permanent striping along U.S. 101 through Port Orford on Sunday and Monday nights, June 30 and July 1, as construction on a state highway paving project nears completion.

The work will take place from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. and will affect the entire width of the highway, including areas used for parking. ODOT requests that all parked vehicles be moved off the highway by 5 p.m. each day. The work zone extends along U.S. 101 from Madrona Street to Cemetery Loop Road.

Contractors are working through their final checklist this week and plan to finish most items before Independence Day. This includes adjusting manholes and marking crosswalks and stop bars.

Tidewater Contractors will return after the holiday to install drainage curb at the south end of the project area, near Battle Rock Wayside Park.

This work is part of the $4.35 million U.S. 101: Garrison Slough to Cemetery Loop Road project that paved the highway through Port Orford, replaced ADA curb ramps at more than a dozen intersections, installed streetlights and added pedestrian crossings.
