Crews continue work on OR 36 cleaning up after the January winter storm

Travelers should expect 20 to 60 minute closures

OR 36 winter storm clean up

Downed trees and debris on OR 36 after Jan. winter storm

As part of ongoing efforts to address damage caused by January’s winter storms, people traveling on OR 36 from milepost 12 near Deadwood should expect temporary full closures and continued delays.

During the week of April 1-12, crews can close OR 36 for 20 minutes or more at a time to bring in large equipment to help remove the larger trees on the hillside. Crews will do their best to keep the closures to 20 minutes, but at times we could see closures up to 1-hour. The closures will happen from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

These closures and delays are vital to enable the safe maneuvering of heavy equipment, large logs and debris. While these closures are expected to cause daytime delays, our priority remains ensuring the safety of both motorists and our crews.

If you plan to travel this route next week, plan ahead and give yourself extra time. Remember that this work will cause daytime delays. Be prepared to stop and give our crews space. If you want to avoid the delays, consider an alternate route.

Tripcheck.com will be updated with construction information and delays throughout the week.
