- Make intersection improvements at 54th Street.
In a few months we'll start construction to:
- Replace the driving surfaces on a few OR 126 bridges.

To help make this intersection safer, we are:
- Adding dedicated turn lanes, signals and lighting.
- Installing ADA compliant sidewalk, curbs and pedestrian crossings.
You can expect:
- Construction noise and delays.
- Work happening during the day and at night.
- Shoulder and lane closures as needed between 8 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. Sunday night through Friday morning.
|
We're replacing and upgrading signals on OR 126 and some of the local streets this year.
Our goal with this project is to help reduce fatal and serous intersection crashes. To do this, we are:
- Replacing traffic signals where needed.
- Installing reflective back plates behind the signals. This make it easier for drivers to see the signal when it's dark.
- Installing countdown signs for pedestrians so that they know how much time they have to cross safely.
- Adding flashing yellow left turn arrow lights.
These safety enhancements will make it easier for drivers to see and understand the traffic signals and for pedestrians to know when it is safe to cross the street.
|
You can expect:
- Shoulder and lane closures as needed between 6 p.m. and 7 a.m. Sunday night through Friday morning.
- Construction noise.
- Delays.
- Crews working at night.

By repaving, we're creating a smoother ride and preserving the road and bridges so more costly repairs are not needed in the future.
|
When construction starts, you can expect:
- Construction noise and delays.
- Lane closures with flaggers helping direct traffic.
-
A 48-hour full road closure and six 12-hour nighttime full road closures. We won't know the exact dates of the closures until we have a contractor on board.
For the most up to date information on closure dates and impacts, check back on the project webpage.

Whether your walk, drive, ride or roll — we'll be making improvements for safety and accessibility for all users.
Access for pedestrians, including those with disabilities, will be available and identified through or around work zones.
