Construction Update
U.S. 20: Ellsworth Street Bridge Repairs
Updated schedule
Plans have changed since our last email. We expect to start work early April.
Construction schedules can be delayed by unexpected weather events, staff and material availability, and more.
We'll keep the project webpage updated with current information or you can visit TripCheck.com for traffic impacts.
U.S. 20 Ellsworth Street Bridge
What you can expect
We’re raising the overhead beams on the Ellsworth Street Bridge in Albany so it’s easier for semitrucks and other tall vehicles to move across the river.
Starting early April, we’ll have nightly closures of the Ellsworth Street Bridge from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday night through Friday morning. During the nighttime closures, both directions of traffic will use the Lyon Street Bridge. We’ll reopen the Ellsworth Street Bridge to traffic during the day.
Use the detour when going into downtown Albany at night. Cross the Lyon Street Bridge, turn right onto SE 1st Avenue and left onto SW Ellsworth Street.
Plan ahead and use caution – flaggers will help direct both lanes of traffic on the Lyon Street Bridge during the nighttime closure.
Check out what we're building in and around your community!
See what else is being constructed on the roads around your community by visiting our webpage. You can explore our interactive map to see what we're working on.
Pay attention in work zones, slow down and move over – imagine this is where you work! Always drive safely, watch for construction signs and workers.
Remember that fines double in all Oregon work zones, whether workers and signs are present or not.
