OR 217 Closure

OR 217 will close in both directions this weekend between OR 99W and Greenburg Road from 9 p.m. Friday, March 15 to 5 a.m. Monday, March 18 as improvements continue along the important west side highway corridor.

The closure is part of the OR 217 Auxiliary Lanes Project, which will build auxiliary lanes in both directions of the highway between Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway and OR 99W. The project is scheduled for completion at the end of next year and will mean smoother, safer and more reliable travels along the highway.

The closure is necessary to safely demolish the existing Hall Boulevard overpass.

Several on-ramps in the vicinity will also close during each of these closures as well.

To avoid delays during the closures, a signed detour will direct traffic to use U.S. 26, Interstate 405 and Interstate 5. During the closures, traffic should also avoid the area if possible and find alternate routes.

We know these closures will be a disruption for travelers and neighbors and we will work hard to safely complete this necessary work as quickly as we can. Please remind your neighbors, friends, and family in the area to check the project website and sign up for email updates in order to get the latest information.

The project will improve safety and reduce bottlenecks on OR 217 by adding auxiliary lanes, or ramp to ramp connections, between Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway and OR 99W. Work began in December 2021 and will continue through 2025. In partnership with the City of Beaverton and Washington County, we are also making targeted improvements to local bicycle and pedestrian routes.
