St. Johns Bridge will close 9 a.m. to noon Saturday for a walk honoring Martin Luther King Jr. 

During the closure, sidewalks will remain open and bicyclists will be allowed on the road.

St. Johns Bridge will close Saturday Feb. 24 9 a.m. to noon for a walk honoring Martin Luther King Jr.

The St. Johns Bridge will close in both directions from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Feb. 24 for a walk honoring Martin Luther King Jr.

During the closure, bicyclists will be allowed on the road. The sidewalks on both side of the bridge will remain open.

The walk across the bridge will honor the spirit and words of King and will include speakers and a choir.

As a detour, the nearest alternate route across the Willamette River is Interstate 405 and the Fremont Bridge.

The St. Johns Bridge, U.S. 30 Bypass, opened in 1931 and is owned and maintained by ODOT.
