Construction Update
U.S. 101: Urban Upgrades in Garibaldi
We're working on upgrading U.S. 101 through downtown Garibaldi. These upgrades will help make the area safer and more accessible for all, whether you ride, drive, walk or roll.
As part of this project, we're:
Repaving the road and applying new striping.
Constructing new ADA curb ramps and sidewalks at the rail crossings on 3rd Street and 7th Street.
Creating bus stop pull out areas at several locations.
Building new sidewalks between 1st Street and 11th Street along U.S. 101.
Enhancing street signs to make it easier to know where you're going through downtown.
Improving water drainage.
Construction begins this year and we estimate finishing in 2025.
When work starts, you can expect:
Construction noise and debris.
Delays.
Lane closures with flaggers helping direct traffic as needed.
Check out what we're building in and around your community!
See what else is being constructed on the roads around your community by visiting our webpage. You can explore our interactive map to see what we're working on.
Pay attention in work zones, slow down and move over – imagine this is where you work! Always drive safely, watch for construction signs and workers.
Remember that fines double in all Oregon work zones, whether workers and signs are present or not.
