Project Update
Do you drive, ride, walk or roll along OR 47 in Forest Grove or Gaston?
No matter how you move through the area, we want to make OR 47 in your community more accessible.
One of the ways we’re doing that is by rebuilding or installing ADA curb ramps in Forest Grove and Gaston starting in mid-2024.
Why are curb ramps important?
ADA curb ramps make it easier for people to move between the sidewalk and road. This can be helpful for those who have trouble stepping up and down high curbs.
It's also helpful for people using wheelchairs, strollers, walkers, hand carts and bicycles. These ramps make it easier for everyone to get around, whether they have a disability or not.
Check out the corners we're looking at by visiting our interactive map.
When we start construction, you can expect:
Construction noise.
Shoulder and lane closures.
Delays.
Flaggers helping direct traffic as needed.

Heads up Forest Grove
We're also installing rumble strips in your community this summer! These are grooves in the pavement that create vibration and sound to alert drivers when they're leaving a lane.

Pay attention in work zones, slow down and move over – imagine this is where you work! Always drive safely, watch for construction signs and workers.
Remember: fines double in all Oregon work zones, whether workers and signs are present or not.
