The Hall Boulevard on-ramp to southbound OR 217 will close for two months starting 6 a.m. Monday, Jan. 15 as part of the OR 217 Auxiliary Lanes Project that will smooth traffic and improve safety along this critical westside corridor.
During this closure, crews will rebuild and reconfigure the loop ramp to ensure it seamlessly connects to the new, future auxiliary lane along the highway.
As a detour, travelers may head south on Scholls Ferry Road to the on-ramp to southbound OR 217.
Expect delays from the closure. Plan ahead and give yourself extra travel time on Hall Boulevard, Scholls Ferry Road and the surrounding area, especially as travelers become accustomed to the changes. Go to Tripcheck.com before you leave for up-to-date traffic reports. As with all projects, the closure schedule is subject to change.
The OR 217 Auxiliary Lanes Project will construct auxiliary lanes in both directions of the highway between Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway and OR 99W. Auxiliary lanes are ramp-to-ramp connections that help reduce congestion by giving drivers more space and time to merge safely. This decreases conflicts, improves safety and the flow of traffic, and ultimately allows the existing lanes to work more efficiently. We expect up to save 73,000 hours of travel time each year with these improvements.
We aren't just making improvements to the highway itself. We’re also working to make the area surrounding OR 217 safer for all users. In partnership with the City of Beaverton and Washington County, we are making targeted improvements to local bicycle and pedestrian routes.
