Interstate 5 – Pacific Highway – Rose Quarter Investigations
Project Description: This project will conduct geotechnical exploration work in the I-5 Rose Quarter Improvement Project area along I-5.

Interstate 5 – Pacific Highway – I-5 Over 26th Avenue Improvements
Project description: Improves the I-5 bridge over SW 26th Avenue in Southwest Portland with a new structure and upgrades SW 26th Avenue with better lighting, bike lanes, and sidewalks.
Traffic impacts: SW 26th Avenue under I-5 is closed through spring 2024. Periodic shoulder closures on I-5.

Interstate 84 – Columbia River Highway – A Better Red (TriMet)
Project description: TriMet is constructing a new bridge over I-84 at Gateway as part of its Better Red Project.
Traffic impacts: Weekend detour of I-84 east and west at I-205 from 10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6 to 4 a.m. Monday, Oct. 9. Detour using I-205.
Shoulder closure on I-205 north between Glisan Street and Exit 22, on I-84 east and west. Nighttime lane closures in both directions of I-84. Nighttime closures of Exit 7 to Halsey Street from I-84 east.

Interstate 84 – Columbia River Highway – Paving and resurfacing I-205 to Marine Drive
Project Description: In 2023, we are repaving and resurfacing two sections of I-84: from Interstate 205 to 169th Avenue and from just east of 201st Avenue to Marine Drive (exit 17), repairing bridges and reconfiguring the northbound signal at NE 238th Drive with to dedicated left-turn lanes onto I-84 west.
Traffic impacts: Nighttime detour of I-84 east at I-205 from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sept. 29 to Oct. 2. Use I-205 to detour.
Nighttime closures of the I-84 east off-ramp to 122nd. Daytime lane closures on NE 238th Avenue from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Nighttime lane closures between I-205 and Marine Drive (Exit 17) Monday through Friday.
Lane closures allowed Sunday to Thursday nights from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., Friday night from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. Saturday, Saturday night from 7 p.m. to 8:30 a.m. Sunday.

Interstate 84 – Columbia River Highway – Landslide Repair
Project Description: Repairs to a 2021 landslide a mile west of Multnomah Falls, including a new culvert under I-84.
Traffic Impacts: Eastbound right shoulder closed. Daytime single lane closures Monday through Wednesday, weather allowing.
Interstate 84 – Columbia River Highway – Mitchell Point Tunnel
Project Description: The iconic Mitchell Point Tunnel was a highlight of the original Historic Highway, but the construction of Interstate 84 destroyed the tunnel. Now, we are constructing a new tunnel and Historic Highway State Trail segment adjacent to I-84 east near Exit 58.
Traffic Impacts: I-84 Exit 58 to Mitchell Point Overlook closed around-the-clock.

Interstate 205 – East Portland Freeway – Improvements Project Phase 1A Abernethy Bridge
Project Description: The I-205 Improvements Project is part of a regional Urban Mobility Strategy to comprehensively reduce congestion and crashes, while also making travel times shorter and more predictable. The first phase of the project will upgrade the Abernethy Bridge to withstand a major earthquake, improve interchanges at OR 43 and OR 99E, along with improving on- and off- ramps to improve safety. Abernethy Bridge will also be widened to accommodate a third lane in each direction. Final lane configuration will be completed in a future phase.
Traffic Impacts: Nighttime lane closures on I-205 north and south 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Speeds reduced.
Single lane closures on Clackamette Drive, Willamette Falls Drive and OR 43 north. Auxiliary lane closure on OR 99E north. Pedestrian detours on OR 43 and OR 99E.
Nighttime closures of the OR 99E ramp to I-205 south and the OR 43 south ramp to I-205 north from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Interstate 205 – East Portland Freeway – Lombard Wayfinding Project
Project Description: The Portland Bureau of Transportation, in partnership with ODOT, will install new signs on I-205 to reflect new street names in the city of Portland’s Cully, Sumner and Parkrose neighborhoods. The new I-205 Exit 23B signs reflect the renaming of Northeast Portland Highway and Killingsworth Street to Northeast Lombard Street from 42nd Avenue to the 9900 block of Sandy Boulevard.

U.S. 26 – Powell Boulevard – Outer Powell Transportation Safety Project
Project Description: We are constructing safety improvements to help people travel Outer SE Powell Boulevard more safely from SE 99th Avenue to SE 122nd Avenue and SE 136th Avenue to just east of SE 174th Avenue (the Portland/Gresham city limits). The first phase, from SE 122nd Avenue to SE 136th Avenue, is complete.
The overall Outer Powell Project will add a center turn lane, sidewalks and bike lanes. These improvements reduce the frequency and severity of crashes as well as help people driving, taking transit, walking and biking share the road with fewer conflicts. Pre-construction activities are underway through summer 2023. Road construction begins in the first quarter of 2024 and will last five years.
Traffic impacts: Lane closures, traffic shifts, shoulder closures and up to 20 minute traffic holds weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and at night from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

U.S. 26 – Mt. Hood Highway – Paving Brightwood to Zigzag
Project Description: We are paving and completing multimodal safety improvements on U.S. 26 between the Brightwood and Zigzag areas in 2023.
Traffic impacts: Nighttime single lane closures in both directions between the Salmon River and Lolo Pass Road 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. Saturday night through Friday morning.
Periodic daytime lane and shoulder closures. Periodic daytime lane closures 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. during the week on local roads.

U.S. 30 – NW St. Helens Road – NW Industrial Paving Project
Project description: We are making safety improvements for people walking, biking, rolling, driving and moving freight on U.S. 30 (NW St. Helens Road), between NW Bridge Avenue and NW Kittridge Avenue. We are repaving the roadway, replacing traffic signals, adjusting vehicle lane widths, building curb ramps to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements and improving conditions for people biking.
Traffic impacts: Periodic daytime and nighttime lane closures with flagging at Kittridge, Front and Bridge Avenues.
Pedestrian impacts at some locations with temporary detours at intersection corners between NW Bridge Avenue and NW Kittridge Avenue. Bicycle use roadway travel lanes.

U.S. 30 – Historic Columbia River Highway – Cascade Avenue at Rand Road
Project description: This project will rebuild the intersection of U.S. 30 (Cascade Ave.) and Rand Road to align the north and south roads of the intersection, add a traffic signal, improve or add sidewalk and curb ramps accessible to people with disabilities, improve storm water drainage, and add new street-lighting. These changes will increase safety and improve traffic operations and accessibility for all travelers.
Traffic impacts: Northbound and southbound right turn lanes closed on Rand Road at Cascade Avenue. Center left turn lane closed on Cascade Avenue. Pedestrian detours.
Nighttime lane closures with flaggers directing traffic between 1 a.m. and 11 a.m. Wednesday through Friday nights as weather allows. Between 1 a.m. and 6 a.m. Thursday, Rand Road will be closed between Cascade Avenue and Timberline Drive. Between 1 a.m. and 6 a.m. Friday, the Rand Road and Wasco Street intersection will be closed with no turns from/to Cascade Avenue.

U.S. 30 BY – St. Johns Bridge – Bridge Repair
Project description: We are improving the long-term safety and lifespan of the St. Johns Bridge by repairing the concrete on the pier columns and arches under the bridge. Repairing the concrete will protect the bridge's steel internal frame and reinforcements from corrosion, maintaining the service life of this beloved Portland Historic Landmark.

U.S. 30 BY – North Lombard Street – sidewalk curb ramps
Project Description: This project rebuilds sidewalk curb ramps along Lombard Street in Portland between N. Omaha Avenue and N. Greenwich Avenue to meet ADA accessibility standards.
Traffic Impacts: Around-the-clock lane closure on eastbound Lombard between Omaha and Mobile Avenues. Pedestrian detours.

Oregon 8 – Tualatin Valley Highway – Safety improvements project
Project Description: This project will improve traffic signals and pedestrian connectivity at eight intersections along Canyon Road (OR 8) in Beaverton and Aloha, between 110th Avenue and 192nd Avenue.
Traffic Impacts: Nighttime lane closures from 8 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. in both directions on OR 8 and side streets.
Nighttime lane closures at SW Hall Boulevard, SW 110th, SW Watson Avenue and SW Short Street.
Daytime lane closures at SW 192nd Avenue, westbound OR 8 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Oregon 99E – Pacific Highway East – Paving in Canby
Project description: This project will repave and reconstruct sections of Oregon 99E between South Pine Street and Southwest Berg Parkway in Canby and make safety improvements.

Oregon 99E – McLoughlin Boulevard – ADA Ramps
Project Description: This project will construct two ADA curb ramps on the SE corner of OR 99E and Jennings Ave, install a bike detector loop, and extend the crosswalk stripes.
Traffic impacts: Right turn lane closed Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 30 on northbound OR 99E at Jennings Avenue.
Oregon 99W – Pacific Highway West – Paving: I-5 to McDonald Street
Project description: The project area begins where OR 99W crosses Interstate 5 near SW 64th Avenue. It continues along OR 99W south to SW McDonald Street in Tigard. It will create a fully connected sidewalk network in the corridor, smoother and safer road surface, increase bike lane connectivity, and reconstruct sidewalk curbs so they comply with Americans with Disabilities Act standards.
Traffic impacts: Periodic nighttime lane closures from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday through Thursday from I-5 to McDonald.

Oregon 213 – Cascade Highway South – Roundabout at Toliver Road
Project Description: ODOT, in partnership with the City of Molalla, is improving safety at the intersection of OR 213 and Toliver Road in Molalla by constructing a roundabout. Utility work is anticipated in spring 2023 with roundabout construction in summer 2023.
Traffic impacts: Daytime shoulder closures along Toliver Road and OR 213.

Oregon 217 – Beaverton-Tigard Highway – Auxiliary Lanes
Project Description: This project will address long-standing congestion on OR 217 between Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway and OR 99W due to too many closely spaced interchanges: 10 interchanges in just over seven miles! This is some of the shortest merging spacing in the region.
Traffic impacts: Periodic nighttime lane closures on OR 217 in both directions through Thursday. Nighttime Lane closures on Allen Boulevard overpass Sunday through Thursday.
Ongoing closures: One westbound lane on the Hall Boulevard overpass is closed between Scholls Ferry Road and Cascade Avenue until Thanksgiving. The OR 217 southbound Denney Road on-ramp is closed. The left turn lane on the Greenburg Road northbound off-ramp is closed for several months. Left turns permitted from the middle lane. Auxiliary lane closures on OR 217 south from Scholls Ferry Road to OR 99W and from OR 99W to 72nd Avenue.
Expect shoulder closures on OR 217, various on- and off-ramps, and on local roads near the highway ramps. Various on- and off-ramps temporarily narrowed. Pedestrian detours on the Denny Road overpass, Hall Boulevard overpass in Beaverton, and at the end of the OR 99W southbound off-ramp.

Oregon 217 – Beaverton-Tigard Highway – Pipeline (Willamette Water Supply)
Project Description: The Willamette Water Supply Program is adding a seismically-resilient water supply for Tualatin Valley Water District, City of Hillsboro, and City of Beaverton water customers.

Oregon 281 – Tucker Road – Orchard Road
Project Description: ODOT is designing safety improvements that include widening and reshaping the intersection of OR 281 (Tucker Road) and Orchard Road in Hood River County. Utility work is underway.

Various Highways – Central ARTS
Project Description: The ARTS Program aims to reduce serious crashes at various intersections on state highway and on local roads. Intersections typically have high rates of crashes. The Central ARTS program improves safety at intersections and streets in the central Portland metro area. Improvement corridors include U.S. 30 Bypass, Powell Boulevard (U.S. 26), Foster Road, and Interstate 205.
Traffic impacts: Daytime and nighttime single lane closures on Powell Boulevard at 71st Avenue, Foster Road at 92nd Avenue with flaggers directing traffic, and Woodstock and 92nd Avenue.
