Reminder: Old Hwy 99 closed at Oakland Bridge this weekend

OAKLAND -- Old Highway 99 (NE 1st Street) will be closed near the east end of Oakland Bridge from 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 22, to 6 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 25, to replace a culvert.

During the road closure, traffic will detour along Stearns Lane, Oregon 138W (Oakland-Sutherlin Highway), Rolling Ridge Road, Rochester Bridge Road and Green Valley Road.

Watch for roadside message boards and detour signs.

Oakland Bridge construction

OAKLAND – The 1924 Oakland Bridge (right) will be closed to traffic this weekend so contractors can replace a culvert under the highway near the east end of the bridge (top). The closure is scheduled to start at 8 p.m. tonight and continue until 6 a.m. on Monday. Throughout October and November, contractors will continue to work on the new bridge, which is scheduled to open later this fall. ODOT PHOTO
