New: Southbound I-205 off-ramp to OR 99E (Exit 9) Overnight Closures

Southbound I-205 off-ramp to OR 99E intermittent overnight closures from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. starting Monday, September 25 and occurring periodically through early October.

SB I-205 Exit 9 Detour Map

During these closures, there will be signed detours. ODOT is working with local jurisdictions to minimize local impacts. In order to protect the safety of workers and the nearby residential areas, we ask that drivers slow down and follow the signed detours. People traveling in this area should plan for delays and longer travel times, particularly during morning and evening rush hour.

Ongoing Traffic Impacts

  • OR 43 northbound single lane closure with trucks leaving and entering the highway.

  • Clackamette Drive single lane closure with temporary signal and flagger through late 2023.

  • Jon Storm Park parking lot under the Abernethy Bridge closed during construction.

  • Local roads will experience lane closures and traffic restrictions during construction.

River Impacts

  • The Willamette River remains accessible during Abernethy Bridge construction; the Sportcraft Boat Ramp is open.

  • 'No wake' zones are in place until 2024 through the bridge construction area on the Willamette River.

  • River users will notice several large barges anchored in the river and are required to stay 200 feet away from them. River users are urged to use extreme caution, and all boats must travel between the green and red buoys.

Bike and Pedestrian Impacts

  • The pedestrian stairway from Willamette Drive to Territorial Drive in West Linn closed through 2023. Use approximately one half-mile signed detour via Mill Street.

  • Bike and pedestrian routes through construction zones are in place. People walking and riding a bike need to use caution when traveling through the project area. Follow signs and stay alert.

  • OR 43 and OR 99E bike and pedestrian access restrictions.

Construction has started on the project’s first phase and will last through 2025. You can visit Tripcheck.com for real-time traffic impacts. Stay safe out there. Pay attention to signs and travel safely through the construction zone.
