Construction Alert
U.S. 30: Columbia to 8th Street
Lane Closures
Last night we started sealing the outside lanes of U.S. 30 from Columbia Avenue to 8th Street. We're continuing work over the weekend and hope to have lanes reopen mid-week.
Plan ahead – one lane of traffic in each direction remain open.
This work is weather dependent and the sealant needs time to dry. Use caution, cones are protecting the wet surface in the work area. Be sure to stay in your lane and follow these traffic cones – driving over wet sealant could be difficult to get off of your vehicle!
Expect:
Both outside lanes of U.S. 30 to remain closed over the weekend and into next week.
The inside lanes will stay open, maintaining one lane of traffic in each direction.
Delays and flaggers helping direct traffic.
Access to and from some side streets will close starting Sunday night: Hume Avenue, 2nd Street, 3rd Street, 4th Street, 5th Street, 6th Street and 7th Street.
After we've applied sealant at driveways, we'll put down a layer of fine gravel so access to businesses and homes remain open.

Remember, today’s delays lead to a smoother, safer ride tomorrow. Visit TripCheck.com for the most up to date information on traffic impacts.
Pay attention in the work zone, slow down and move over – imagine this is where you work! Always drive safely, watch for construction signs and workers.
Remember that fines double in all Oregon work zones, whether workers and signs are present or not.
We're making this section of U.S. 30 safer and more accessible by adding a center turn lane, bicycle lanes and upgrading pedestrian crossings.
