SALEM — Transportation commissioners from Oregon, Washington and California will meet in Eugene to discuss regional transportation issues and concerns. The tri-state meeting will run from 10:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 12, and 8:15 a.m. – noon, Wednesday, Sept. 13, on the University of Oregon campus. This is the first meeting of the three commissions since before the pandemic.
Presenters from the three states will lead discussions on:

Road usage charging — The reasons why we started pursuing the topic and efforts to-date along with next steps.

Climate and Electrification — Balancing the needs of freight and climate, climate adaptation and freight resiliency.

Creating a West Coast states’ transportation network plan — The Washington State Legislature asked for a scoping effort to discuss the feasibility of creating a regional plan.
Other meeting topics include a briefing from the administrators of the Federal Highway Administration in each state and guest presenters from the University of Oregon’s Urbanism Next Program and The Ray.
