Plan Ahead: Lane Closures and Traffic Shifts
|
Paving continues on I-105. To help get the work done faster, make it safer for our workers and lessen the duration of traffic impacts, we are preparing for the second weekend of lane closures with traffic shifted.
Beginning August 11, we're moving the westbound traffic into the eastbound lanes.
|
Help lessen the impacts and reduce delays by using a different route, carpooling or taking the bus.
Pay attention in the work zone, slow down and move over – imagine this is where you work! Always drive safely, watch for construction signs and workers.
Remember that fines double in all Oregon work zones, whether workers and signs are present or not.
|
Today's delays lead to a smoother, safer ride tomorrow.
Impacts
Plan ahead, you can expect:
- Delays.
- Construction noise.
- Lane and ramp closures.
- One more weekend closure with traffic shifted. This allows us to get more work done per shift, so construction will finish faster. It also creates a safer work zone for our crews.
- Due to location and safety, there is no pedestrian access during construction.
- A speed reduction to 45 mph in the work zone.
Schedule
-
Aug. 11 - 14: Starting at 8 p.m., we will shift traffic to the eastbound lanes from just before Coburg Road to Country Club Road while we pave and apply permanent striping on the westbound lanes. We will reopen lanes by 5 a.m. Monday.
Ramp closures during this time:
- Country Club Road westbound on-ramp to westbound I-105.
- Coburg Road off-ramp from westbound I-105.
- Starting Aug. 15, we will apply new driving surfaces to the bridges and finish paving the on and off-ramps. You can expect single lane closures nightly, Sunday night through Friday morning, 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- Next, we will install rumble strips and permanent striping.
Visit TripCheck.com for the most up to date information on traffic impacts. Work is weather dependent and our schedule may change.
Project Details
As part of the project, we will:
- Repave I-105 and some I-105 and I-5 on and off-ramps.
- Remove and replace seven bridge deck surfaces.
- Add rumble strips between milepost 2.25 and 4.
- Add reflective strips to guardrails for improved visibility.
